General Summary: Engineers at this level are considered a senior practitioner having the skills and knowledge to perform the duties of a Specialist I, II, Network Analyst I, II and additional duties at an expert level of skill. This level is advanced at performing technical procedures in customer support, maintenance, and/or administration of data systems and/or high-speed access solutions such as: data switches, routers, firewalls, local area networks, VOIP, and wireless access point solutions on products such as: Mitel, ShoreTel, Adtran, Cisco, Juniper, HP, and Ruckus. Specific Solarwinds Administration experience in onboarding new devices and customers, maintaining multiple modules, specific to monitoring Data LAN’s, VOIP, Cloud environments, and various circuit types. Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, engineers at this level can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.
Provides advanced remote services involving system configuration, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repairs, of data networks, and/or data systems hardware/software applications including desktop computers, data/VOIP/video communication systems, call centers, including peripheral devices, wiring and cabling to ensure connectivity and functionality.
Provides advanced technical support through a central support desk function to configure, resolve, or ensure resolution through best practices and problem diagnosis/assessment and repairs for the Solarwinds environment.
Skills/Experience Required: * The skills required of a Network Analyst III consist of all responsibilities defined in the Specialist Level I, Specialist Level II and Network Analyst I and II positions. * Proficient in at leastthree system manufacturersCertification awarded by a system manufacturer including Solarwinds. * Certification as a Solarwinds Certified Professional * Ability to hear, speak, and see effectively while providing guidance, training, and mentoring of customers and internal support employees with clarity and professionalism keeping customer satisfaction in mind. * Self-motivated and demonstrates the desire and aptitude for self-development and the highest certification levels. * Ability to handle a wide variety of more complicated job tasks requiring coordination of numerous process/ methods. * Competent to handle multiple tasks concurrently, prioritizing and accurately completing them in a potentially stressful environment. * Ability to provide technical and guidance leadership while being able to manage multiple or conflicting demands, deadlines, emergencies, or time pressures. * Ability to demo possible Solarwinds solutions to potential customers * Requires minimal level of supervision.
Preferred Training/Experience: * Bachelor’s Degree, Associates Degree, vocational, or technical training in networking, data technology, or a related technical field. * 7 years of work experience in the installation and/or service of data communications, VOIP and networking equipment. * Cisco CCNP Certification or equivalent. * 2 Current “expert” manufacturer certifications. *Minimum Requirements: * Associate's Degree in a technical discipline and 4-6 years technical/telephony experience with 5 years directly related to the job; or 8 years of directly related telephony or network operations experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience required.
